At RFS Projects, we believe in regular communication. At the beginning of every stage in the build, we will update you on the progress and the schedule. We will guide you through decisions that need to be made and suggest cost effective and energy efficient solutions where possible.

RFS Projects Timeline

2003

RFS Projects began and we built our first display home. Since then we have built one or two per year. They are a great way to show the quality of our workmanship to potential new clients.

2004

We hired our first apprentice and continued to hire one or two apprentices at the start of each year.

2005

Each year our team of employees grew bigger and we had quickly established a great team.

2007

We purchased an excavator and a small tip truck. These were the first vehicles in the RFS fleet!

2008

We had completed our biggest job so far; in 12 months we had built 23 units to expand Karingal Community. During this year, we also built 25 homes. With all this work we needed to expand our team so we hired our first administration employee.

2009

This year saw a bit of a change in jobs, we built Ulverstone CarSpa and our first official office… no more working from the dining room table!

2010

With our growing team we jumped onboard with Unicorn Business Solutions. We have been working closely with Unicorn since then, they have guided us with excellent business advice and helped improve our systems and processes.

We hired our first Project Manager / Estimator and added a hook lift truck and skip bins to our fleet.  The skip bin created better efficiencies with site clean ups.

2012

With the success of the Ulverstone CarSpa, we constructed a Carwash in Devonport. This was another big year with the construction of a Child Care Centre in Ulverstone as well.

We introduced a new service to our clients which included organising building design plans, engineering plans and the building permit.

2014

We hired our first draftsperson. We were finally able to provide a service from concept to completion.

2015

Another busy year with commercial work, we built the building and offices for FRM Devonport, the building and offices for Tasmanian Farm Equipment Devonport and added the automatic carwash bay to Ulverstone CarSpa.

2017

We constructed the Spreyton CarSpa as well as a state of the art building in Ulverstone CBD for four commercial tenants.

2018

We were busy focusing on constructing new homes, reaching around 45 homes for the year.

2019

Our efficiencies kept improving with the help of Unicorn Business Solutions and a great team in the office and on site.

2020

Coronavirus hit the world and slowed up construction for a short time. The government Stimulus Packages for building residential homes saw our enquiries skyrocket. Our admin team had to quickly adapt to a new system to service all the new enquiries.

2021

The building enquiries continued to come in thick and fast and we have never been so busy! We overcame hurdles with material shortages, adapting to new and improved system of booking jobs in months in advance to secure materials and subcontractors when required.

We completed the construction of The Cove, located on Don Heads. The views on this building site are impressive to say the least!

2022

Prices of materials and labour are continuing to increase significantly, however our workload is constant, with plenty of houses and unit developments in progress.

2023

Although we are still servicing the North West Coast, our work is becoming more local due to larger land developments in the Devonport area. We have had the pleasure of working with some customers for the second and third time.
